The history of the issue is described. There are presented: mechanism of the contribution of the Decade to societal outcomes, Decade overarching goals and Decade strategic objectives as well as priority research anddevelopment areas.Some organizational aspects of the Decade preparatory stage are considered. It is given a commentary on the necessity to form a long-term strategy for ocean science development in Ukraine. |
