Description Стаття присвячена розгляду дуалізму моди в поглядах Г. Зіммеля. Аналізуються основні умови виникнення
моди, її властивості. Обґрунтовується розуміння моди як діяльності, для якої притаманні певні особливості,
що мають соціальне походження і вплив. Автор піддає філософському аналізу такі твердження Г. Зіммеля,
що дозволяють розкрити дуалізм моди: наслідування, потяг до наслідування, особливості прояву моди при
диференціації суспільства (This article deals with the review of dualism of fashion in the views of Georg Simmel. The features of modern
scientific trends of consideration of the heritage of Georg Simmel: sociological, philosophical and psychological are
determined. The main conditions for the appearance of fashion, its properties are analyzed. The understanding of
fashion as an activity for which certain features exist, which have social origins and influence is grounded. G. Simmel
believes that the main feature of fashion it is the presence of dualism, the ability to combine the individualism and the
desire to belong to the general trends.
The author subjects to the philosophical analysis such statements of Georg Simmel, which allow to reveal the
dualism of fashion as the imitation, the desire to imitate, the features of demonstration of fashion in a class society. The
disclosure of dualism of various shapes and elements of life (subjective and objective, visible and invisible) is traced.
Dualism of fashion is associated with physiology, human emotional sphere. The examples of demonstrations of dualism
of fashion in social life, the lack of which can lead to its demise are described. Particular attention is paid to revealing
of the process of imitation which is associated with human needs. The issue of revealing of the features of fashion as
the aspirations of the lower classes to imitate upper classes is raised, in the result of which the same processes of
individualism, identification, differentiation of society are disclosed. The imitation of the lower classes to the higher
ones leads to the growth and changing of fashion trends.
The methodology of the research of the phenomenon of fashion is specified. The possibilities of applying the theory
of Georg Simmel for the analysis of actual to the modern scientific discourse of the concept fashion, the revealing of its
key features in the philosophical dimension are demonstrated)
