У статті викладено результати дослідження історичної топографії міста Дубно в період другої половини XIII–XV ст. На основі матеріалів археологічних досліджень реконструйовані просторові розміри поселення, виділено його топографічне ядро, картографовано ділянки, які були обжиті у зазначений період, розглянуто причини занепаду Дубна та значення діяльності князів Острозьких для його відродження. (Dubno of Volyn was one of the small towns in Kyiv Rus. It did not lose its administrative and political importance after the Mongol-Tatar invasion and continued to remain the town of Lutsk principality until the end of XIII century. However, in the XIV century for a number of reasons Dubno was not on the records. Regular written record of Dubno appears only in the end of the XV century, when the prince Kostiantyn Ivanovych Ostrozkyi petitioned for the settlement to get its town rights. Until this time the history of the settlement was covered in mystery. Involvement of the findings of the archeological research of the last two decades allows studying the development of the town of this period more thoroughly. In the number of cases the information received is proven by the written record. This concerns, in particular, such key centers as the castle and the Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi monastery. It was established that despite regressive tendencies, the settlement maintained its settlement core. It was at the place of ancient Rus site where the first castle of prince Ostrozkyi was built. As for the territory of Dubno it remained hardly populated and was not characterized by densely built-up areas. The settlement structure adopted fragmentation features, except for the outer part of the castle headland.) |
