Description В этой научной статье проанализированы теоретические и методологические
направления театроведения, которые сформировались в 50-е годы прошлого века. Были исследованы
критические взгляды Мирзы Фатали Ахундзаде, основателя нашей национальной драматургии. А
также были проанализированы научные статьи Г.Зардаби, ААхвердиев, Н.Нароманова,
М.Гаджинского, А.Шерифа, Г.Зейналлы, М.С.Эфендиева, М.Дж.Джафарова, Дж.Джафарова,
М.Дадашзаде, Г.Маммадли и других ученых, которые в этот период занимались изучением истории
театра и критикой.

У цій науковій статті проаналізовано теоретичні та методологічні напрямки
театрознавства, які сформувалися в 50-ті роки минулого століття. Було досліджено критичні погляди
Мірзи Фаталі Ахундзаде, засновника нашої національної драматургії. А також проаналізовано наукові
статті Г.Зардабі, ААхвердіева, Н.Нароманова, М.Гаджінського, А.Шеріфа, Г.Зейналли, М.С.Ефендіева,
М.Дж.Джафарова, Дж.Джафарова, М.Дадашзаде, Г. Маммадлі та інших вчених, які в цей період
займалися вивченням історії театру та критикою.

In this scientific article the author analyzed theoretical and methodological trends of theater that
emerged in the 50s of the last century. Were investigated the critical views of Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, the
founder of the national drama in Azerbaijan. Considered scientific articles of G.Zardabi, A.Ahverdieva,
N.Naromanova, M.Gadzhinskogo, A.Sherifa, G.Zeynally, M.S.Efendieva, M.Dzh.Dzhafarova, Dzh.Dzhafarova,
M.Dadashzade, G.Mammadli and other scientists who studied this period of the history of the theater and its
critiques.
From the historical point, national theater emerged in the second half of the XIX century on the basis of the first
Azerbaijani playwrighter of comedies, a prominent thinker and philosopher Mirza Fatali Akhundov.
In this article author provides the readers with the information about the prominent and fundamental works on
the field of theater studies in Azerbaijan, classifies them, points out the most important periods of historical
development of the theather, and also makes the readers acquainted with the artists and specialists in the study
of the literature and culture, who developed the theater and dramatic art.
Despite the fact that theater studies in Azerbaijan as a science emerged only in the 50s of the last century, the
theoretical views of the dramatic art are found in the works of the national drama’s founder Mirza Fatali
Akhundzade long before the birth in this country the dramatic art.
The next prominent figure of the development ot the national dramatic art were M.F. Akhundzade. Due to his
meaningful reflections about theater and drama were made a solid basis for struggle for progressive theater. In
subsequent periods, matured generation of talented intellectuals as Mirza Muhammad Akhundzade, Habib Bey
Makhmudbekov, Jahangir Zeynalov, Mehdi bey Hadjinsky, Minasazov Hussein, Khalil Ibrahim, Mustafa
Guliyev, who worked mainly as a professional theater critics and academic researchers.
To the beginning of the 20th century th great place in the works of scientific intellectuals in Azerbaijan takes new
national literary image of the spiritual revival.
The next trend in the literature of that period were realism that played the important and significant role in the
national self-consciousness.
In 1923, in a theatrical environment happened two significant events. The first of them - is the creation of the
Baku theater school, and the second - publishing the booklet “A Brief History of the Azerbaijani-Turkish
theater”.
60-80-e years of the 20th century were a period of extensive research of the Azerbaijani theater studies. Due to
this interest the Azerbaijani theater studies enriched by the new researches, which were the fruits of original
creative investigations. Also at that time, the interest to the lives and work of actors and directors, to the
different theaters increased.
70-80s of the 20th century is a period of dramatic art, when along with the study of the professional schools of
art, was also studied the history of people's views. As can be seen, the Azerbaijani theater studies, relying on the progressive traditions at all times, develops in
parallel to the dramatic arts and its future will develop with the help of young theater critics.
