В статті розглядається процес формування етнічного складу населення Півдня України протягом ІХ – ХХ ст. та його вплив на формування пріоритетів сучасної етнополітики України. Порушується питання щодо необхідності проведення послідовної державної політики в сфері етнопроцесів, притаманних українському суспільству, з метою їх удосконалення, зважаючи на історичні фактори розвитку Південного регіону. = The process of forming the ethnic population in the South of Ukraine during the IX − the beginning of the XX centuries and its influence on the forming of priorities of modern ethnic politics of Ukraine have been examined. The question about the necessity of gradual state politics in the sphere of ethnic processes of Ukrainian society in order to improve because of the historical facts of development of the South region have been discussed.
