Description У статті висвітлюється проблема професійного самовизначення
старшокласниць у міських сім’ях, подаються етапи вибору особистістю певної професії. Розкриваються форми й методи професійного самовизначення міських старшокласниць у сім’ї. Детально описано такі методи, як дискусія, ділові ігри,
самопрезентація, проектування майбутнього. Акцентується увага на тому, що успішність професійного самовизначення cтаршокласниць забезпечується спільною діяльністю в цьому напрямі сім’ї та школи.
The article deals with the forms and methods of professional self-determination of
urban girls of high school in the family. The complex appropriate forms and methods of work
with high school girls and their parents have seen revealed in our Program «Professional selfdetermination
of senior girls in urban families». It includes 4 lessons for grade 9 («I am a
future woman», «My opportunities, skills and interests», «The interesting world of
professions», «My choice»), 4 classes for grade 10 («Culture of communication»; «A
successful woman. What is she?»; «Me and chosen profession»; «Professional choice and
fulfilment of personality»), and 3 educational hours for parents («Psychological
characteristics of girls of high school»; «The role of the family in professional selfdetermination
of senior girls»; «Effective ways of support of choice of life and profession of
their daughter»).
In professional self-determination of girls of high school the most effective have been
such methods as discussion, planning of the future («Letter to me in future»), selfpresentation,
role plays, discussion of educational situations and so on.
We have used various forms of work, despite the fact that girls of high school were at
the different levels of professional self-determination, namely: the frontal (involving all senior
girls in participation in discussions, solving problems, doing exercises, tests, playing games,
etc.); group (with the same or mixed group of pupils in terms of their professional selfdetermination);
pair (provided support from strong to weaker student), individual (work with
the girl of high school who belonged to the low level).
The common activity of the family and school in this area is important for successful
professional self-determination of the girls of high school. Therefore, the parents were invited
to a joint program of a family and school activity on professional self-determination of senior
girls that contained the following areas: formation of motivation of choosing of future
professional life, which is based on deliberated needs, cognitive interest, conscious beliefs;
enrichment of senior pupils’ worldview; development of skills that are necessary for
successful activity (self-knowledge, self-control, internal plan of actions); formation of
qualities of personality such as: the ability to work in a team, to take responsibility, to be
reliable and so on.
After all a negative assessment of a child, ridiculing it for school failure or something
else, the comparison with more successful students cause depression, negative attitude not
only to school life, but also to further professional choice.
