| Description |
The procedure of the endurance determination of the cyclically loaded notched structural component based on the testing of smooth specimens is analyzed. The shortcomings of these methodologies is shown and new approach is proposed. It is based on the unified model of fatigue fracture and new structure-mechanical parameter of materials (process zone size). The fatigue life of the notched specimens are defined as the sum of crack initiation and propagation periods identified through basic curves. |
