Пояснено елатив як явище. Висвітлено основні властивості поняття інтенсивності, як категорії, роз’яснено її складові елементи. Охарактеризовано природу елатива у граничній функції. Описано засоби вираження граничного елатива. Розглянуто особливості вживання та функціональну роль граничного елатива у творах Горація, Овідія, Верґілія. (The question of intensity of qualitative attributive feature (absolute, irrelative concerning comparison), in particular elativity in Latin linguistics is poorly investigated. An elative as a phenomenon, means of expression of elativity, its stylistic role, synonyms of elative, adjectives with elative meaning in the works by Horace, Ovid and Virgil are considered in our articles «Elative and its synonyms in the works by Horace», «Adjectives with elative meaning» [ref. 11; 20]. The main concept of boundary elative is re-explained as a phenomenon in this article for general understanding of its main subject. The basic properties of the intensity concept as a category are clarified, and its constituent elements are explained. The nature of the elative in boundary function is characterized, its differences and common features with the intensifying elative are shown, its place in the system of means of intensification of attributive features is indicated, the gradational scale of intensity degrees is clarified. An attempt to find out whether the elative degree in boundary function will belong to the system of means of intensification expression is done. The article also describes the means of expression of boundary elative. The peculiarities of usage and functional role of boundary elative in the works by Horace, Ovid and Virgil are considered. The elative is analyzed in boundary function as an expressive rhetorical tool that intensifies perception of the poem’s image and includes concepts such as sadness, grief, tragic inevitability, and as one that stands in context parallel with other tools that express the image of sadness, grief and tragic inevitability.) |
