У статті проведено порівняльний аналіз творчих методів І. Франка та Ф. Норріса в аспекті виявлення збігів і розбіжностей в утвердженні, функціонуванні, розвитку й трансформації натуралізму як у контексті індивідуальних авторських стилів письменників, так і в історико-теоретичних координатах національних і загальносвітового літературного процесу кінця ХІХ – початку ХХ ст. (The article deals with comparative analysis of representation of naturalism theory and practice in I. Franko’s and F. Norris’s creative works. Historical and literary, theoretical and philosophical foundations of Ukrainian and American versions of naturalism have been clarified in this research. It has been substantiated that synchronous emergence of naturalism in European and American national literary processes points to its objective causation by such cultural and historical factors as general intellectual atmosphere of the epoch, historic juncture peculiarities, national heritages and novel approaches in the world literature development. Substantial political, social and economic, cultural and historical modifications at the border of XIX-XX c. constituted similar encouraging conditions for the development of naturalistic movement in the national literary processes of both Ukraine and the USA. Thus, the fact that I. Franko’s and F. Norris’s naturalistic experiments had a positive influence on the succeeding development of the Ukrainian and American literatures respectively proves that in the intellectual atmosphere of the mentioned above countries there were favourable conditions for the appearance of naturalistic art and that the world literary process develops in accordance with certain immanent rules with which national literary processes do to a lesser or greater extent agree.) |
