У статті розглядається перекладацька концепція С. Караванського у світлі постколоніальних досліджень. Висвітлено багатогранність антиколоніального дискурсу С. Караванського. Автор статті висловлює критичні міркування щодо постколоніальних досліджень як інтерпретаційної стратегії. Аналіз демонструє помітний антиколоніальний зсув у розумінні призначення українського художнього перекладу другої половини двадцятого століття, водночас пунктирно окреслюючи всеукраїнський антиколоніальний дискурс та його індивідуальне втілення у творчості С. Караванського. (The article pays tribute to the creative legacy of a Ukrainian translator, Language Studies Scholar and lexicographer Svyatoslav Karavansky. His work is viewed in the context of his characteristic innovative approach to literary translation. The article is focused on the analysis of the conceptual framework of the translation principles by S. Karavansky as the constituent part of the translation method. The conceptual framework of the translation principles by S. Karavansky is viewed in the context of postcolonial studies. The article discusses the multifaceted nature of Karavansky’s anticolonial discourse that was represented by the creative activities in the field of literary translation, language studies, and lexicography. The author of the article argues that under modern paradigm postcolonial studies is an obvious interpreting strategy sufficient enough to say its word about the common patterns of the translation method of S. Karavansky. The analysis reveals the visible anticolonial shift in understanding the main task of the Ukrainian literary translation in the second half of the twentieth century, while providing elements of comparison of the pan-Ukrainian anticolonial discourse and its individual characteristic features, the latter produced by creative activity of S. Karavansky.) |
