On the basis of study of dissertation research by American scientists the author analyzed the content of two equal degrees - Ph.D. (PhD in Education) and Ed.D. (Doctor of education) - in the US, common and different between them controversial aspects about the existence of two degrees in the United States. The analyzed studies raise the value of higher education as provide reasonable information on the differences between his doctorate and presentation of such programs and departments that carry out such training. Information on training programs of future doctors provides an opportunity to make effective changes in the delimitation of Ed.D. and Ph.D degrees, help higher education leaders make informed decisions about the introduction of new doctoral programs and improve existing ones. Studies also have an impact on different areas of learning, especially in education because the program can be evaluated not only educators, but also by other professionals. Analytical review of research, learning theory and practice on the issue of the existence of two degrees Ph.D. and Ed.D., has allowed researchers to develop reasonable guidelines for promoting doctorates in education in the United States and resolving existing contradictions. It should be emphasized that these studies help universities understand the importance of the reform of academic degrees, as well as provide practical actionable steps to its efficient and effective implementation. It is concluded that implementation of Ph.D. and Ed.D. levels in education in Ukraine requires diligence in determining their content and target audience of consumers, and therefore at this stage of reforming of higher education is feasible only implementation of Ph.D. education without limiting access to scientific research in practical education. У статті на основі вивчення дисертаційних досліджень американських вчених проаналізовано зміст двох рівноправних наукових ступенів – Ph.D. (доктор філософії в галузі освіти) та Ed.D. (доктор в галузі освіти) – у США, спільне та відмінне між ними, дискусійні аспекти щодо необхідності існування двох ступенів у США. Зроблено висновок, що впровадження рівнів Ph.D. та Ed.D. в галузі освіти в Україні потребує ретельності у визначенні їх змісту і цільової аудиторії споживачів, а тому на даному етапі реформування вищої освіти доцільним є впровадження тільки рівня Ph.D. в галузі освіти без обмеження доступу до здійснення наукових досліджень практиків сфери освіти. В статье на основе изучения диссертационных исследований американских ученых проанализировано содержание двух равноправных научных степеней - Ph.D. (Доктор философии в области образования) и Ed.D. (Доктор в области образования) - в США, общее и отличное между ними, дискуссионные аспекты о необходимости существования двух степеней в США. Сделан вывод, что внедрение уровней Ph.D. и Ed.D. в области образования в Украине требует тщательности в определении их содержания и целевой аудитории потребителей, а потому на данном этапе реформирования высшего образования целесообразно внедрение только уровня Ph.D. в области образования без ограничения доступа к осуществлению научных исследований практиков сферы образования. |
