Стаття висвітлює роль мовних центрів у формуванні лінгвокраїнознавчої компетенції майбутніх учителів іноземної мови на прикладі Центру англійської мови та інформації у Київському національному університеті імені Тараса Шевченка та інформаційно-культурного центру «Вікно в Америку», м. Слов’янська, Донецької області. Визначено, що атмосфера іншомовного спілкування є величезним досвідом на шляху вдосконалення комунікативної та лінгвокраїнознавчої компетенції майбутніх учителів іноземної мови. (The article considers the role of language centers in formation of lingua and country-specific competence of the future foreign language teachers on the example of The English Language and Information Center of the Institute of Philology, Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and Informational and Cultural Center «Window on America», Slovyansk town, Donetsk region. The atmosphere of foreign communication with native speakers stimulates and improves communicative skills and lingua and country-specific competence of future foreign language students. The English Language and Information Center of the Institute of Philology, Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University was opened in 1997 in a framework of partnership between Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine. The Informational and Cultural Resource Center «Window on America» was opened in Slovyansk, Donetsk region in 2015, supported by the Embassy of the United States in Kyiv. Both Centers work as resource centers, information and communicative center and methodological center and provide opportunities not only for English language learning but also the British and American Studies. It’s proved that attendance of the above mentioned centers by future foreign language teachers positively and effectively influences their lingua and country-specific competence as well aspromotes their outlook in cultural environment.) |
