HISTORICAL DICTIONARY OF UKRAINIAN LINGUISTIC TERMS: THEORY AND PRACTICE OF COMPOSING It is shown that various researches in linguistic terminology have a great importance today. Different linguistic schools and directions are developing very intensive moreover the same process is being observed in their terminology. Despite the new dictionaries of linguistic terms, Ukrainian terminology still doesn’t have any work, which presents Ukrainian linguistic meta-language of previous ages. Гуманітарна освіта в технічних вищих навчальних закладах. № 33, Київ, 2016 85The relevance of research in the history of linguistic terms is emphasized; it is shown the importance of chronological inventory of lexical units which denote scientific concepts, description of its own historical development and ways of representation in different types of historical and terminological dictionaries. Author shows that historical and terminological dictionaries are inventory in the dichotomy normative dictionary – inventory dictionary because the registry should contain the maximum number of special lexical units and normative dictionary provides a clear delineation of specific terminology according to the concepts’ definition and classification. The place of historical terminology dictionary in opposition «encyclopedic / linguistic (philological) dictionaries» is outlined. Also the research deals with some theoretical principles of composing the comprehensive type of historical dictionary of linguistic terms which fully represents the task of integral language description where the word appears not only as a lexical unit, as well as an element related to spiritual and material culture of the ethnic group. The model of the combined historical linguistic terms dictionary deals with the idea of modern lexicography about dictionaries of active type creation. Their aim is not only to fix the semantic content, but also to show the word dynamics in the process of its functioning. Such dictionary requires to depict semantic evolution of a term and its nominations. Settings for the dictionary is presented according to the author’s guideline (sectoral; historical; monolingual; referential; specialized; inventorial; source base – Ukrainian grammar mannuals, dictionaries, books and scientific articles); macro organization (alphabetical; auxiliary sections – index, phrases are presented by the separate articles, polysemy is presented in the same article, homonyms – in different articles) and micro organization (source, basic term’s form, phonetic information, variability, etymological and interpretative options). A fragment of the dictionary is illustrated (dictionary entry for the term граматика (grammar).
Подчеркнута актуальность исследований в области истории лингвистических терминов; показана важность хронологической инвентаризации лексем, обозначающих отдельное научное понятие, освещение его собственно исторического развития и способов представления этого понятия в разных типах историко-терминологических словарей. Показано место исторического терминологического словаря в типологии словарей; изложены теоретические основания составления исторического словаря лингвистических терминов комплексного типа, а также представлен фрагмент такого словаря Наголошено на актуальності досліджень у галузі історії лінгвістичних термінів; показані важливість хронологічної інвентаризації лексем на позначення окремого наукового поняття, висвітлення його власне історичного розвитку та способів представлення цього поняття в різних типах історико-термінологічних словників. Окреслено місце історичного термінологічного словника в опозиції «енциклопедичні / лінгвістичні (філологічні) словники»; подано теоретичні засади укладання історичного словника лінгвістичних термінів комплексного типу, а також представлено фрагмент такого словника |
