The article deals with the terminology of mixed and distance learning, the theory and method of distance learning, which should take into account the changes that have taken place in the educational information structure of modern society, which determines the relevance of the development and implementation of new educational services based on ICT and remote technologies. Distance education today is especially relevant in the field of training young people with a different age, cultural, social level and different motives of education. Distance learning can be considered as a means of modernizing the education system. В статті розглядається термінологія змішаного та дистанційного навчання, теорія і методика дистанційного навчання, котра повинна враховувати зміни, які відбулися в освітній інформаційній структурі сучасного суспільства, що зумовлює актуальність розробки та впровадження нових освітніх послуг, створених на базі ІКТ та дистанційних технологій. Дистанційне навчання сьогодні є особливо актуальним у сфері підготовки молоді, які мають різний віковий, культурний, соціальний рівень та різні мотиви навчання. Дистанційне навчання може розглядатися як засіб модернізації системи навчання. Аналізується структура онлайн та очної форм навчання, тенденції щодо впровадження змішаної форми навчання.
