This article discusses female underrepresentation in Ukrainian top-politics. It discovers problems concerning female perception either as beautiful objects or mothers. Events around March 2012 are analyzed as those that brought both challenges and hopes for women’s issues. Gender party quotas are suggested as possible affirmative action tool to change situation.
У статті обговорюється низький рівень присутності жінок в українській політиці. Розглядаються проблеми сприйняття жінок як привабливих об’єктів і матерів. Аналізуються події навколо березня 2012 року як такі, що принесли виклики та надії стосовно питань залучення жінок. Гендерні партійні квоти запропоновано як можливі підтримувальні дії задля зміни ситуації. |
