As the title implies, the article describes the factors of students’ motivation to start their scientific studies in future. Much attention is given to such factors as salary, prestige, career, requirements, situation with the science branch in Ukraine and other countries, and how these motivate or demotivate the students. In addition, the paper presents immediate plans of students: a significant part of them are going to continue their education on master programs. At the same time, only a small part of respondents reported they would be interested in postgraduate studies. The authors conducted research to explain the students’ behavior motivation. The study sample consists of 91 students of all the departments of the NaUKMA. As a result of the research, the authors substantiate that most of the students are non-motivated, with factors mentioned above. There is a significant gap between motivation and non-motivation indicators, and this is a key why the further research on the subject of students demotivation will be essential. A large part of the respondents still belong to the “in between motivation” category, so there is a need in stimulating the students to opt for the academic career or scientific work in future. The article is a great help to look deeper into students’ motivation and to create an effective stimulation programme on this basis. У статті розглянуто 8 чинників мотивації, які можуть впливати на студентів 4 року навчання НаУКМА при роздумах про майбутній науковий шлях. Зокрема, виявлено ті чинники, які не мотивують найбільше, досліджено зв’язок зацікавленості студентів щодо вступу до аспірантури та здобуття наукового ступеня, щоб створити підґрунтя для ефективної популяризації наукової діяльності серед студентів та майбутніх випускників. Обсяг вибірки – 91 студент 4 року навчання НаУКМА, представлено всі факультети університету. |
