In order to study the problems of cut-off and metal slitting saws efficiency, the computer simulation of milling process was performed for the whole range of their design sizes at the recommended cutting conditions according to GOST (State Standard) 2679-93. By the means of the engineering programmes package of model simulation processed by disc cutters, the intervals of cutters structural sizes were determined. These saws are characterized by high and insufficient dynamic stability as a result of kinematic stimulation of bending vibrations caused by cutting forces. Thus, it was found that the dynamic stability is not the only limiting factor in assessing the efficiency of cut-off and metal slitting saws in the whole range of their structural sizes. |
