The main types of breakages of taps are the destruction of cutting edges by the cutting forces and fracture of tap by tapping torque. To determine the power characteristics of threading the specific forces, the cutting forces on the cutting and the calibrate parts of the tap and threading torque are investigated, considering the kinematic geometric parameters of the tool. The dependencies to determine the cutting forces and torques in the processing of threading by taps are obtained. Presented dependencies consider the kinematics and changes of geometrical parameters of taps along the cutting edges during threading process, that enabling evaluate power load and predict possible breakages. |
