The paper deals with the design of modern microwave emitters that are used in diathermy. Their shortcomings are analyzed. The design of the microwave transmitter with increased coefficient of directed action and reduced reflectivity and length is offered. Radiator improvement is achieved using a rectangular waveguide with dielectric plates installed in parallel to its sides. The equations for the effective permittivity of partially filled rectangular waveguide which is the ground to the transmitter of units diathermy are gotten. The paper presents the results of calculations of various designs of microwave emitters where the dielectric plate differ in thickness, material and a placement in the waveguide. The calculation results are compared with the corresponding experimental data and given in graphs. The results of the radiation in free space and irradiation of different areas of the body of the microwave radiation. Include the basic parameters of the radiator are stated.
