The technique of determining of the stress-strain state at an arbitrary point of the disc in a thin metal slitting milling cutter, loaded with circumferential and radial cutting forces was developed. Tangential, radial, tangent and equivalent stresses were defined and corresponding graphic relations were received. Extreme degrees of equivalent stresses in the flutes were calculated by taking into consideration the stress concentration factor. Individual and simultaneous influence of radial runout and teeth blunting on the stress state of a thin metal slitting milling cutter was examined. It was found out that under the simultaneous influence of the maximum degrees of these factors equivalent stresses can reach critical level and cause the loss of cutter efficiency. Due to the developed technique the criterion of a thin metal slitting milling cutter blunting depending on the radial runout of the teeth was specified. |
