The difference between the structural characteristics of the security paper in the watermark area can cause different printing quality playback on adjacent portions of the paper web. It can lead to rejection of the product. As a result of studies on the structure of security paper and microscopic examination of sections of colorful prints, it was found that the penetration of both components of the paint components, and the entire thickness of the ink system in the paper with water marks is uneven, resulting in discoloration of the face and prints turnover. Creating a model for determining the change of color prints turnover, taking into account the structural characteristics of the paper and ink options enable to carry out forecasting of print quality and adjust the rules on the admission rate of contamination in automated sorting banknotes in order to avoid withdrawal from circulation of suitable banknotes. To solve the problem of creating a mathematical model of changing the color prints, the method of turnover GMDH, software GMDH Shell BF 3.8.2 is used. During the simulation the main factors affecting the print quality were registered, mutual coupling between the structural characteristics of the paper, color characteristics of paper and ink, the amount of ink on the print, micro-hatch parameters and color characteristics of the print circulation were taken into account. The adequacy of the model is confirmed by statistical methods and Fisher and Student?s criteria. A model for determining the change in the color prints turnover that occurs due to ink interrupting allows avoiding unjustified withdrawal from circulation of banknotes suitable in connection with a false assessment of their status as a worn-out.
