The paper characterizes the distinctive features of granite, labradorite and gabbro constituting the Ukrainian crystalline shield, analyzes and compares the domestic and international quality requirements for natural stone blocks. Recent changes in the standards of Ukraine on natural blocks of natural stone, the notions of the netto, gross and commercial dimensions of rough blocks are analyzed. Common size groups of natural stone blocks are stated. Comparison of natural stone blocks of world and domestic quarries were held. Prices for different size groups are averaged and the deviation values of different breeds of natural stone of Ukrainian miners depending on the size of the lateral surface of natural stone blocks are given. The influence of the width of a natural stone block on the cost parameters is analyzed. The deduction indicates obstacles to improve the profitability of the domestic mining companies when changing the organization of extraction process in order to improve dimensional group of natural blocks. |
