A method of deck milling components made of unhardened steels by face-milling cutters equipped with elements from superhard materials consists in that initial forming of cold-worked surface layer of the workable surface is performed by surface plastic deformation. In the case the deforming elements are elastically fastened in the mill body and are located in radial direction at a greater distance from the axis of cutter relative to the cutting elements. The final removal of the part of strenthened layer is made by the cutting elements, which are located in radial direction at a smaller distance from the axis of cutter relative to the deforming elements. Technical result: increase of durability of face-milling cutters equipped with elements from superhard materials at treatment of unhardened steels. |
