The invention relates to gravimetric measurement in geodesy, geology, civil engineering. A ballistic gravimeter has a test body, a device for holding test body in initial position, the first system for measurement or path and time of free motion of test body, a computer (C) and second system for measurement of path and time of free motion of the test body. The test body is arranged as a ball with magnetic properties. The first system for measurement of path and time of free motion of test body is arranged as a transparent tube on a fixed base and coils. The second system for measurement of path and time of free motion of test body includes a source of pulse illumination, video-camera and block for approximation of trajectory of motion of test body. The outputs of the coils are connected to the first input of the computer, the first output of that one is connected to the input of the device for holding test body in initial position. The third output of the computer is connected to the input of the source of pulsed illumination output of which is optically connected to the test body that is optically connected to the input of the video-camera output of which is connected to the block for approximation of trajectory of the test body motion output of which is connected to the second input of the computer, the fourth output of that one is connected to the control input of the video-camera. The second output of the computer is the output of the ballistic gravimeter. The invention makes it possible to increase accuracy of measurements of absolute value of gravity acceleration.
