Reopening tests of a vertical hydraulic fracture intersecting a vertical borehole is simulated by means of coupled hydro mechanical modeling. The modeling includes coupled interaction between stress and flow in both the rock matrix and the fracture. The results of the modeling indicate that, after fracturing, the hydraulic fracture itself disturbs the stress field around the borehole. |
