This article examines certain features o f the interaction between the walls o f a continuous-caster mold and the solidifying skin o f a slab that is being cast. A new parameter is proposed fo r evaluating the deviation o f the actual values o f the mold oscillation function from the ideal (theoretical) values. Deviations o f the actual values o f the function from the ideal values are analyzed fo r certain hydraulic mold-oscillation mechanisms used on curvilinear-type continuous slab casters. |
