| Abstract | The article deals with the problems of scientific substantiation and functioning of choreotherapy in Poland, its essence is determined. In order to differentiate the content of the concepts of “psychotherapy with dance and movement” and “choreotherapy”, their comparative analysis has been conducted. Comparison of the basic provisions, means, and features of the use of psychotherapy with dance and movement and choreotherapy has allowed determining the advantages of the latter. The Polish research thought concerning the use of dance as a medicinal product has been analyzed. It is shown that choreotherapy uses dance to support and return mental or physical health of a person. The positives features of choreotherapy lie in the captivating overcoming of dance difficulties, the emotional experience of the movement to music, during which you can express your inner experiences in a non-verbal way, and so on. Music in this process encourages motor activity, positively affects the central nervous system. Dance and musical art is treated as a prophylaxis and a panacea for the threats of the modern world. The proposals and forms of preparation of choreotherapists prepared at psychotherapeutic and psychological societies, postgraduate courses, universities, specialized academies and higher professional schools are covered. The educational plans of the centers of choreotherapeutic education are described. |
