| Abstract | The human voice is a unique instrument. This tool is very interesting due to organic compounds from the human body, as well as unique opportunities for expression and transmission of emotional states. The article is an attempt of approaching subjects relating to teaching methodology and functioning of the voice of coloratura soprano as a specific genre of soprano voice. The research material is based on the ideas and experiences which were the result of years of work in Opera and concert, and in the author’s experience as a teacher of solo singing. In the article the specifics of coloratura soprano, its special features, abilities, but also weaknesses and threats are discussed. The various characteristics of this type of voice, vocal technique are described in detail, and their application, that is a result of working with a coloratura soprano voice is analyzed. In light of the issues discussed, training of this kind of voice, and the vocal art, the studied phenomenon is incredibly complex. The purpose of the research is to find optimal methods allowing safe and effective way of learning and functioning of special voices. The author is deeply convinced that the time devoted to work on formation and mastering coloratura soprano on the stage during training at Alma mater, should be paid to creation of the necessary framework for the full development of the personality, his/her vocal and artistic activities, while at the same time should be found the way to overcome the issues contained in the literature designed for this type of voice. The author is also convinced in the need for further specialization in the field of education certain types of votes. Of course, this requirement should be applied in relation to the process of learning coloratura soprano. |
