UK: Стаття присвячена використанню латинських словотворчих формантів у сучасній французькій мові. Основна увага приділяється їх ролі удериваційних процесах та особливостям їх перекладу українською мовою. EN: The research relevance of place and role of the Latin formants in derivative processes of modern French language is caused by its tradition to spread its lexical structure borrowing from classical languages-Latin and Greek. Thus, the study of neologisms recorded in unilingual French explanatory dictionary Le Petit Robert for the last20 years, and the resources of the General Commission on Terminology and neology that works at compiling of terminological dictionaries for many scientific and technical fields, allowed to allocate about 30neologisms created using Latin terms-elements, most of which are initial ones. Having analyzed these neologisms we conclude that-Latin language continues to be a source for replenishment of the vocabulary of the French language; -Latin derivation formants are productive in derivational processes in modern French for object nomination and phenomena of scientific and technical sphere in translation into Ukrainian and serve as the language used in different ways: internationalism, descriptive translation, two-component counter parts. The results of the study should be used in the foreign language lessons for sensibilizationof future translators to study and the knowledge of these resources should be used for adequate translation of neologisms.
