| Abstract | The aim of the article is to analyse and generalize the situation in contemporary classical German universities and to express their vision of the further development of this educational sphere. To achieve the goal, general scientific, historical and pedagogical methods of research were used. The analysis of scientific works of foreign and domestic scientists has made it possible to draw conclusions that development of a network society increases the availability of knowledge and information for each individual and at the same time creates a threat of the classical university's death, which forces it to open itself for constant change and turn into a centre of educational and research network. |
