Посібник складається з трьох частин: теоретичної, де стисло викладено одинадцять тем з основ екології; методичної, яка розкриває форми і методи екологізації фахових дисциплін, найбільш доцільні у професійній підготовці майбутніх фахівців відповідної галузі виробництва та довідникової, де міститься додаткова інформація (таблиці, схеми, короткий термінологічний словник), що може бути корисною на різних етапах лекцій, практичних заняттях, при написанні дипломних, курсових робіт, рефератів, організації поза аудиторної екологічної роботи. Призначений для викладачів екології, біології, географії, фахових, професійно орієнтованих, загально технічних дисциплін вищих і професійних навчальних закладів, а також слухачів установ післядипломної педагогічної освіти. Посібник є складовою навчально-методичного комплексу з екологізації навчально-виховного процесу.
