У статті розглянуто лексико-стилістичні засоби образності (метафора, фразеологічні одиниці) у науковому тексті П.Г. Житецького, вивчаються та описуються їх роль та функції. Лексико-стилістичні засоби образності розглядаються як засіб роз’яснення наукових істин, а також є цілісною системою, спрямованою на вирішення конкретних наукових завдань автора.
The problem of the presence and role of the elements of imagery in the scientific text raises much controversy. There are many works, the main objects of study of which are precisely the manifestations of imagery in various types and genres of scientific texts, in which we can find answers to some of the questions. Most researchers of figurativeness agree that it can be present in the text belonging to any functional style, modifying its quality depending on changing the purposes of its creation, and it is associated with the personality of the author who, being the initiator of text communication, seeks to use various language tools to achieve the set goals. This property is not an obligatory functional-style feature, but is represented in the texts of a scientific style occasionally, in the form of some stylistic devices. In the scientific text, the use of figurative means is aimed at drawing attention to the narrative, to clarify the speaker’s thought, its concretization. To study and describe the lexical-stylistic means of imagery (metaphor, phraseological units) and their functions in the scientific text of P.G. Zhiteckij «Essay on sound history of malorussian dialect». Imagery of the scientific text under study is represented primarily by a metaphor. The large group in the scientific text under study is composed of anthropomorphic metaphors. Anthropomorphic metaphor is manifested in the orientation toward the human sphere. These metaphors are formed by the principle of personification, when an inanimate phenomenon receives the properties of animate. P.G. Zhiteckij uses metaphorical reinterpretation of abstract concepts using linguistic means based on familiar features for native speakers that do not require special knowledge for their understanding. The phraseological units presented in the analyzed scientific text also possess a high figurative and stylistic potential. They are among the active means of information transfer, the popularization of new ideas and contribute to the successful decoding of the author’s design. Inclusion of phraseological units in the scientific text is one of the means of adapting special knowledge to a certain national and cultural environment, while performing a number of textual and stylistic functions. Imagery is not among the style-forming features of scientific speech but is its inalienable attribute, and is determined by the peculiarities of human thinking. Imagery of the scientific text does not violate its style-forming qualities and is a way of fixing, explaining linguistic knowledge. Lexico-stylistic means of figurativeness (metaphors, phraseological units) used by P.G. Zhiteckij in the scientific text «Essay on sound history of malorussian dialect» аre a coherent system aimed at solving specific scientific problems of the author. |
