У статті аналізуються особливості переосмислення Н. Готорном античної компоненти для потреб дитячої аудиторії. Використання образу дитини як засобу міфологізації суспільної свідомості з метою запобігання розколу нації стало реакцією на пожвавлення феміністичних і аболіціоністських рухів у США середини XIX століття. (The article deals with N. Hawthorne’s adaptation of the antique component for children’s audience. The child’s image exploitation as a mythogenic source was aimed at preventing the split of the nation and connected with the intensifi cation of American feminist and abolitionist movements in the middle of the XIXth century.) |
